Abrams boards New York scavenger hunt

J.J. Abrams has agreed to produce an adaptation of Penelope Green's newspaper article Mystery On Fifth Avenue, reports Variety.

Green's article, which appeared in last week's New York Times, describes how an architect concealed a series of clues, messages and treasures when refitting a New York apartment. When the property’s residents uncover the clues, they embark on a scavenger hunt.

Maya Forbes and Wally Wolodarsky will pen the film's screenplay.

Paramount and Abrams previously teamed for the monster movie Cloverfield. They are also in post-production on a new Star Trek movie.
