Rex Features

Hilary Duff has joined the cast of the new Polish brothers film Stay Cool.

The movie, which is described as a "knowing-your-age-comedy", will also star Winona Ryder, Sean Astin, Chevy Chase and Jon Cryer.

The project begins shooting next month, reports Variety.

It revolves around the life of a successful author (Mark Polish) who is forced to confront an unrequited lover (Ryder).

Duff will play a sexy high school student that flirts with the author and invites him to the prom.

The Lizzie McGuire actress, who recently starred in the political satire War, Inc, is also currently working on her fifth studio album.
