Carter films 'Fencewalker' in secret

The 51-year-old is currently filming passion project Fencewalker, a drama starring Natalie Dormer, Katie Cassidy and Xzibit, in Los Angeles and his hometown of Bellflower.
The film is a semi-autobiographical story that, unlike Carter's more recognisable works, has no science-fiction elements.
Carter raised funding for the movie himself and is currently seeking a distributor.
His feature directorial debut The X-Files: I Want to Believe is released in UK cinemas on August 1.
