Paul W.S. Anderson has revealed that a new Resident Evil movie is in the pipeline.
Anderson, who directed the first instalment in the video game franchise and wrote the following two, said he has begun talks for a fourth film.
He told MTV Movies: "I’m just starting to talk to Sony about it. I don’t even know if anything will come of it, but there’s a possibility it might happen."
He added: "I love the Resident Evil franchise and we always try to make the best possible movie we can.
"If we could find a good Resident Evil 4 to make, then we would do it. But I wouldn’t just do it for the sake of it, that’s for sure.”
Previous instalment Resident Evil: Extinction made $147 million worldwide on its release last year.
The series stars Anderson's girlfriend Milla Jovovich as central character Alice.
