John Madden is in talks to direct The Debt for Miramax, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film is a remake of the 2007 Israeli thriller HaHov, which follows three Mossad agents who chase a Nazi war criminal across Europe in the '60s.
Stardust pair Matthew Vaughn and Jane Goldman penned the screenplay. Vaughn's next directing project is rumoured to be a film version of Mark Millar's comic series Kick-Ass.
Madden has previously helmed Mrs Brown, Shakespeare In Love,
Captain Corelli's Mandolin and Proof.
