Hollywood studio Super 78 is planning to shoot its upcoming fantasy film Flight Of The Dragon in 4K digital resolution.

The format - which holds four times more information than traditional digital cinema setups - has been used infrequently by Hollywood due to the volume of data needed to process in the post-production phase.

Flight Of The Dragon, to be written and directed by Brent Young, revolves around a boy who discovers the exotic landscapes of China while flying with a dragon. The film will shoot in locations across the country.

Producer Charlotte Huggins (Journey To The Centre Of The Earth) told The Hollywood Reporter: "4K is the next challenge... and the special venue really pushes the envelope.

"I also love the idea of doing a production in China; it's challenging from a production standpoint. We're going to be shooting in very remote, beautiful locations."
