'Jeepers Creepers 3' name revealed

The third instalment in the Jeepers Creepers franchise has been named Cathedral.

The MGM movie, which is expected to be a straight-to-DVD release, was originally called The Creeper Walks Among Us.

Director Victor Salva told Fangoria: "The script, now titled Jeepers Creepers III: Cathedral, is about to enter pre-production at MGM and includes a prologue in the Old West where we see how the Creeper became a frightening part of cowboy and Native American folklore."

Salva confirmed that Gina Philips, who played Trish Jenner in the original film, is to return as herself 23 years on, saying: "[She] has a teenage son of her own, named Darry after her long lost brother [and] is having a terrible recurring dream where her son meets the same terrible fate as her brother.

"Now a rich and powerful woman, Trish is determined to stop the Creeper once and for all."

He added that the new movie "revisits characters from both films, lets us learn more about what the Creeper is and, by popular demand, reintroduces the infamous Creeper truck".
