Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms are close to sealing deals to lead the Warner Bros comedy Hangover, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Todd Phillips will direct the film, which revolves around three friends losing the groom at a Las Vegas bachelor party two days before his wedding.

Jon Lucas and Scott Moore wrote the film's script, which will be produced by Phillips and Dan Goldberg.

Cooper can soon be seen in the Jennifer Aniston comedy He's Just Not That Into You.

Hangover marks the first movie leading role for Helms, a Daily Show correspondent and star of US sitcom The Office.
