Matt Groening has confirmed that a sequel to last summer's The Simpsons Movie is on the horizon.
Speaking at the Television Critics Association press tour, the cartoon's creator noted that a second feature could take several years to emerge as the show's production team aren't keen to put in the extra hours.
"It will happen at some point, but I have no idea when," he said. "The first one took us four years - mainly because we don't like to work any harder than we usually do."
He added: "We'll get to it, I'm sure."
The Simpsons Movie grossed more than $500 million at the worldwide box office.
