'Dark Knight' ticket sales 'phenomenal'

The movie, which was released in the US today, shifted more than $1,000,000 in advance sales.
Many cinemas opened at midnight to screen the hotly-anticipated film, which stars Christian Bale, Sir Michael Caine and Heath Ledger.
Online ticketing agency Fandango said it accounted for 94% of recent sales, while MovieTickets reported 87%.
All 94 of the Imax sites scheduled to show the film in the US have sold out, according to Warner Bros.
