Walden to adapt Law's novel 'Savvy'
Walden Media is to bring Ingrid Law's young adult novel Savvy to the screen, Variety reports.

The production company, which published the book in conjunction with Penguin Young Readers Group, will team with studio 20th Century Fox to release the film in cinemas.

The story concerns a young girl, Mibs Beaumont, growing up in the American Midwest with her superhero family. Days before her 13th birthday, Mibs's father is involved in an accident and can only be saved if his daughter's "savvy" awakens.

Author Law wrote her debut novel while living in a mobile home with her daughter.

Screenwriter Karen Janszen (Gracie, A Walk To Remember) will adapt the book for the screen.
