George Lucas plans 'Star Wars 3-D'

George Lucas is planning to re-release all six Star Wars films in 3-D.

Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of DreamWorks Animations, confirmed to Coming Soon yesterday that Lucas will repurpose his sci-fi saga for a new format.

"He isn't going to put a product out, I think, that isn't anything other than first rate," Katzenberg said.

So far, The Nightmare Before Christmas is the only 2-D film to have had a re-release in 3-D, however a new 3-D version of George Romero's zombie classic Dawn Of The Dead is also in the works.
