Roth cast in Tarantino's 'Bastards'

Eli Roth is in talks to star in Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards, reports Variety.

The Hostel director, a protege of Tarantino, would play baseball bat-wielding Nazi hunter Sergeant Donnie Donowitz.

Earlier reports emerged stating that Brad Pitt was in negotiations for the role of Aldo Raine, the leader of a group of Jewish-American soldiers who take on the German military in Nazi-occupied France.

Tarantino had also considered casting Leonardo DiCaprio as SS Colonel Hans Landa but decided that the role should go to a German actor.
