Mike Myers has been added to the cast of Quentin Tarantino's World War II drama Inglorious Bastards, reports Variety.

The comic actor will play Ed Fenech, a British general behind a plot to assassinate Nazi leaders. The film centres on a disparate group of Jewish-American soldiers who face German armed forces in Nazi-occupied France.

Brad Pitt and Eli Roth are confirmed for the cast, with Simon Pegg, Nastassja Kinski, David Krumholtz and B.J. Novak in negotiations to board the project.

Inglorious Bastards begins production in Germany on October 13.
