Palahniuk keen on 'Fight Club' musical

Chuck Palahniuk has revealed that Fight Club: The Musical is still on the cards.

The author's dark novel was previously turned into a feature film in 1999 by David Fincher, with Brad Pitt and Edward Norton in the lead roles.

Palahniuk, who will see a film adaptation of his bestseller Choke hit cinemas on November 21, admitted that Fincher is still eager to push the musical into production.

He said: "Once a year, for the last two years, [he] has called me and said, 'Are we still doing this?' And every time I think that it's dead, someone tells me that Fincher is still working on it.

"I thought it was dead this winter until I was talking to a reporter who had just interviewed Fincher and said that he was still talking about it. So, all I know is that Fincher is still talking about it."

The author, whose novels include Survivor, Snuff and Lullaby, added that Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails will write the musical's score.

"That was who David called to get a verbal commitment from... so, that's another call that maybe I'll get one of these days," he told DS.
