Cruise, Raimi team for 'Sleeper'

Tom Cruise and Sam Raimi will team up for a movie adaptation of the comic book Sleeper, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Written by Ed Brubaker and drawn by Sean Phillips, Sleeper focuses on Holden Carver, a spy who melds with an alien artifact which renders him impervious to pain and with the ability to pass on his power to others through touch.

In the comic, Carver is placed undercover in an enemy organisation where he falls for Miss Misery, a member of the villainous group.

Cruise is circling the lead role, while Raimi will serve as producer with Star Road Entertainment partner Josh Donen.
