Dr Seuss adaptation Cat in the Hat has gone straight in at the top of the US Box Office chart this weekend.
Starring Mike Myers, the comedy adventure raked in $40.1m (£23.6m) around the states, comfortably landing it in first place.
Number two was occupied by new Halle Berry crime thriller Gothika with $19.6m (£11.6m), followed in third by last week's number one Elf on $19.1m (£11.3m).
Matrix Revolutions continued its embarrassingly quick descent, charting at number six with just $6.7m (£4.0m).
