'Love Actually' finds box office success

Love Actually

Love Actually has set a new record for a British romantic comedy's opening weekend takings at box offices around the country, new figures show.

The romcom, starring Hugh Grant as the Prime Minister alongside an all-star cast comprising Emma Thompson, Liam Neeson, and Alan Rickman to name but a few, took over £6.6m in its opening weekend, topping the UK Box Office chart, and pushing Matrix Revolutions into second place.

The movie has also done well on the other side of the Atlantic, where it is currently in fifth place in the US Box Office chart, having taken a total of over $30m since its debut weekend of November 7-9.
