Tom Cruise has topped the US box office chart this weekend, early figures indicate.
New epic The Last Samurai raked in $24m (£14m) on Friday and Saturday; whilst more than enough to go in at the top, it was the second worst opener for a Cruise movie, only narrowly beating 1999's Eyes Wide Shut with $21m (£12m).
The second spot was also taken by a new release, hip-hop/dance combo Honey, on $14m (£8m).
Eddie Murphy's Haunted Mansion dropped one place to three but was 62% down in sales on its debut last weekend.
The controversial Bad Santa held steady at seven, whilst Brit flick Love Actually managed to cling to number ten.
