Rogue Pictures confirms 'Strangers 2'

Rogue Pictures has confirmed it is producing a sequel to Liv Tyler's new horror The Strangers.

The Bryan Bertino-helmed thriller, which opens in the UK this weekend, follows the story of a couple that find themselves under siege in a vacation house from unknown mask-wearing assailants.

Producers hope the vehicle can develop into a franchise similar to the Saw series, reports Variety.

Bertino is expected to return for the second movie as the writer. It is scheduled to begin shooting in early 2009.
