Taylor-Wood to helm Lennon biopic

Sam Taylor-Wood has signed up to helm John Lennon biopic Nowhere Boy.

The production, which is being scripted by Matt Greenhalgh, will focus on the musician's early years, according to Screen Daily.

It will apparently pay close attention to Lennon's aunt and mother, examining their impact on his life. The movie is being filmed in the Beatle's hometown of Liverpool.

Speaking about the project, Taylor-Wood said: "I knew as I closed the final page that this was the film I had been looking to direct.

"The story spoke to me on so many levels - both personal and artistic."
