It was announced last week that Boogeyman writers Stiles White and Juliet Snowden are to pen MGM's update of the 1982 horror classic.
The original movie, directed by Tobe Hooper, revolved around a five-year-old girl who communicates with ghosts through the television in her parents' home.
It spawned two sequels in 1986 and 1988.
