Favreau wants 'Iron Man 2' in 3-D

Speaking to Collider, the filmmaker said his inspiration came from The Dark Knight's use of the technology.
"I would love to do some of [the sequel] on IMAX, for IMAX," he said. "I would also love to do 3-D because just think of the HUD (Iron Man's heads up display computer console), that virtual space and what that would be like, how much fun that could be.
"It also drives people to see it in the theatre, makes it that much more of an experience."
However, Favreau conceded that budgetary concerns may restrict how much of the sequel is shot on the high resolution 70mm format.
"It all comes down to how much does it cost and what do they get for it," he stated. "My leverage only goes so far with issues like that."
Other films to have utilised IMAX 3-D include Journey To The Centre Of The Earth, Beowulf and Superman Returns.
