Diesel, Cohen return for 'xXx 3'

Vin Diesel and director Rob Cohen will make another instalment in the xXx franchise.

The pair worked together on the 2002 original but neither returned for the sequel, xXx: State Of The Union, which starred Ice Cube and was directed by Lee Tamahori.

A script has yet to be written for the third film, going under the working title xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage, but Diesel and Cohen have both agreed to come back to the series once producer Joe Roth has solidified a deal with studio Columbia.

The first xXx focused on an extreme sports athlete who is recruited by the US government to foil chemical weapons attacks on several cities around the world.
