Fox 2000 has hired Keith Merryman and David A. Newman to script Katherine Heigl vehicle Drawn Together.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is an action comedy focusing on an electronics designer who meets a woman hiding a secret about herself.

Heigl and her mother Nancy will produce the movie. Robert Kosberg and Bruce Nash, who originated the idea, are to serve as executive producers.

Kosberg said: "We met a lot of writers, and these were the ones who came in with a fully written-out story and captured a great character for Katherine to play.

"We loved the character they created, we loved the sense of humour and loved the action set-pieces they brought with the pitch."
