Reports have suggested that Cruise will voice one of the villains in Shrek Goes Fourth.
However, his spokesperson dismissed the claims, telling E! Online: "As of today, there is no truth to the Tom Cruise-Shrek 4 rumour."
DreamWorks declined to comment on the stories.
Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy and Antonio Banderas are expected to return for the fourth instalment in the franchise, which is due for release in 2010.
