The period drama revolves around writer F. Scott Fitzgerald and his turbulent relationship with wife Zelda Sayre.
The couple became famous on the New York social scene in the 1920s after the publication of Fitzgerald's first novel This Side Of Paradise.
However, their union became strained when Fitzgerald began mining their personal life for inspiration in his subsequent novels.
As Zelda's health began to deteriorate, she was admitted to a French sanatorium and later diagnosed with schizophrenia.
Cassavetes (The Notebook) will direct from a script by Hanna Weg.
