Mirren to play Mossad agent in 'The Debt'

Helen Mirren will take on the role of a former Mossad agent in John Madden's thriller The Debt, according to Variety.

The 62-year-old Oscar winner's character must cover up the re-emergence of a Nazi war criminal.

The story follows a squad of agents who failed to capture their target three decades earlier. When he re-emerges, Mirren's character is sent scrambling to cover her tracks before the truth can be revealed.

The film is produced by Stardust director Matthew Vaughn from a script he co-wrote with Jane Goldman.
