Sony has secured the movie rights to Mark Millar and Tony Harris's high concept comic book War Heroes, reports Variety.
Millar, the creator of the comic book that was the basis for Wanted, earlier discussed the series's storyline, saying: "It's set a couple of years in the future. John McCain has just won the election and the war in the Gulf is getting bigger, so they give the troops superpower pills.
"That gets all the young American kids signing up to fight the Iraqis."
Michael De Luca (21) will produce the movie, which is currently seeking a director and screenwriter.
Sony emerged with the rights to War Heroes following a bidding war in Hollywood for the six-part series.
Kick-Ass, based on another Millar comic, is currently shooting under the direction of Matthew Vaughn, while a Wanted sequel is also in development at Universal.
