Ann Peacock has been hired to write the movie adaptation of John Grisham's 1997 novel The Partner, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The thriller is based around a lawyer who steals $90 million from his law firm, fakes his own death then vanishes for four years. He is later discovered living in Brazil and goes on the run from the FBI while attempting to prove that he is innocent of murder.

Oscar-winning Rocky producer Bob Chartoff will oversee the project along with Lynn Hendee. Grant Turck and Mark Bethea are also producing through their Velocity Management company.

Peacock has previously written Kit Kittredge: An American Girl and co-penned The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe and Nights In Rodanthe.

Other Grisham novels to be turned into feature films include The Firm, The Client, A Time To Kill, The Rainmaker and Runaway Jury.
