Producers Michael De Luca, Alison Rosenzweig and Michael Gaeta have picked up the remake right to the 1987 supernatural thriller Angel Heart.
De Luca has also purchased the rights to the novel Falling Angel, which inspired the original movie.
The Alan Parker-directed film revolves around a New York private detective who is hired to track down a popular jazz singer. Starring Mickey Rourke, Robert De Niro and Lisa Bonet, Angel Heart was notable for its twist ending.
De Luca described the project as "a great blend of genres with a great Faustian bargain, compelling, universal themes and a rare combination of literary and commercial appeal".
De Luca recently signed up to produce War Heroes, an adaptation of Mark Millar's comic series, for Sony Pictures.
