The movie, which was directed by Joel Schumacher and also starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Uma Thurman, was panned by critics.
The franchise then experienced an eight-year hiatus before being rebooted by director Christopher Nolan with 2005's Batman Begins and sequel The Dark Knight.
However, Clooney commented that he is glad he starred in the movie as it was a commercial success and helped him join Hollywood's A-list.
"The truth is, Batman is still the biggest break I ever had. It changed my career. I wouldn't be doing this now if it hadn't been for Batman," he said.
