Hathaway, Bonham Carter join 'Alice'

Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter have joined the cast of Disney's remake of Alice In Wonderland.

The actresses will play the roles of the benevolent White Queen and more sinister Red Queen respectively, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Directed by Tim Burton, the Lewis Carroll tale will star Mia Wasikowska as Alice and Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. British actors Michael Sheen and Matt Lucas have also already signed up for the film.

Part of the production is to be filmed in Plymouth, it has been reported.
