Bana circles heist drama 'Armoured'

Eric Bana is in talks to lead the cast of Armoured, reports Variety.

The film is a remake of 2004 movie Le Convoyeur, about a man working for an armoured car company who becomes involved in a heist plot.

F. Gary Gray (The Italian Job) is in negotiations to helm the project, with David Ayer and Andrew Kevin Walker penning the screenplay.

Bana's involvement is dependent on his schedule. Armoured begins filming on April 1 next year, but the Australian actor is required to undertake promotional duties for Star Trek on May 8.

He will pocket $7.5 million (£4.4 million) if he takes the Armoured role.
