Tom Hanks will present an award at this year's Oscars ceremony, it has been confirmed today.

His appearance will be his eleventh as a presenter on the awards show.

Hanks won consecutive Oscars in 1993 and 1994 for his leading roles in Philadelphia and Forrest Gump.
