According to The Hollywood Reporter, Allan Loeb is currently rewriting a script for the project, which is titled Money Never Sleeps.
The 1987 original featured Michael Douglas as greedy stockbroker Gordon Gecko and Charlie Sheen as the ambitious Bud Fox.
It is not confirmed whether Douglas would reprise the role, which earned him a Best Actor Oscar, or if Oliver Stone will return.
Ed Pressman has signed up to produce.
