Adams will play a woman who makes a trip across Ireland to propose to her boyfriend on February 29 of a leap year, a day in which women traditionally ask men to marry them. The 1934 classic It Happened One Night has been cited as inspiration.
Made Of Honour scribes Harry Elfont and Deb Kaplan have written the screenplay.
Adams's film credits include Junebug, for which she received an Oscar nomination, Enchanted, and the recent Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day.
