Warner Bros has hired Brad Ingelsby to write Sleeper for Sam Raimi, reports Variety.

Based on an Ed Brubaker-penned story for D.C. Comics, Sleeper revolves around a covert operative who fuses with an alien being and becomes immune to pain. He has the ability to pass on his powers through skin contact.

Spider-Man helmer Raimi will produce the film with Josh Donen.

Ingelsby, a former insurance salesman, broke into Hollywood earlier in the year when he sold his first script The Low Dwellers to Ridley Scott and Leonardo DiCaprio.
