Steve Zallian and Sacha Gervasi have teamed up for My Dinner With Herve, a biopic of Herve Villechaize.
Gervasi, whose previous writing credits include The Big Tease and The Terminal, will write and direct the film, with Oscar winner Zallian producing. Gervasi conducted the last interview with the 3' 11" French actor just days before he committed suicide.
"Steve read the script as a short ten years ago and always believed it would make a compelling feature," Gervasi told Variety. "Herve wasn't just a pop culture icon; he was one of the most charming, cultured and dangerous people I've ever met. His is the story of a unique misfit trying to find his place in the world."
Villechaize is best known for his role as Tattoo in the TV series Fantasy Island and playing Scaramanga's henchman Nick Nack in the Bond film The Man With The Golden Gun. He died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on September 4, 1993.
