Incredible Hulk star Norton plays a detective investigating the deaths of four New York City police officers, with Farrell portraying his brother-in-law who may be involved in the scandal.
He told Newsday that his experience with Farrell was "great" and that he "really enjoyed it".
Norton said: "He's utterly unpretentious, pulls right into the parking lot with the rest of the cast and crew and gets down into the ensemble.
"He's like any good actor I've worked with - tireless, goes as late as you want, and gives it his all."
Pride And Glory goes on release in the UK on November 7.
