Universal hires Nolfi for 'Bourne 4'

Universal has hired George Nolfi to pen the script for a fourth Jason Bourne film, Variety says.

Nolfi co-wrote the The Bourne Ultimatum from a story by Tony Gilroy. He has also worked on Ocean's Twelve and The Sentinel.

Bourne 4 will be the first film in the franchise not to be based on a Robert Ludlum novel.

The franchise was initially going to close with Ultimatum, but a $400 million-plus worldwide box office take prompted Universal to start development on another sequel.

Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass were confirmed for the new instalment in February.
