The six-part series revolves around a young boy attempting to protect his younger brother, one of the local "freaks", from succumbing to their parents' worst instincts, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Green and Mike Richardson, the president of Freaks's publisher Dark Horse, will serve as producers. Niles, who penned the comic that 30 Days Of Night was based on, is acting as executive producer.
Green is the director of last summer's Pineapple Express and the Kate Beckinsale drama Snow Angels.
