According to Variety, Ocean's Thirteen director Steven Soderbergh wants Zeta-Jones in the eponymous role and Hugh Jackman as her lover Marc Anthony.
The $30 million-budgeted film, titled Cleo, will have a soundtrack written by indie band Guided By Voices and a script from the group's ex-bassist James Greer.
The most famous movie interpretation of the character, 1963's Cleopatra, starred Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. At the time, its $44 million budget made it the most expensive film ever made.
