'High School Musical' opens big in the US

The Disney musical, which stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, pulled in an impressive $42 million on its first weekend on release.
The latest instalment in the Saw horror series enters at number two with $30.5 million. It is the first franchise entry since 2006's Saw not to make it to the top spot.
Last week's chart topper, Mark Wahlberg's action movie Max Payne, slips to number three with a $7,600,000 take.
