Sir Sean Connery has been linked to a new film adaptation of the legendary tale 1001 Arabian Nights.

A role in Quest Of Sheherzade would see the Scottish actor returning to the big screen after a break of five years, having last appeared in the 2003 film The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Orlando Bloom has also been linked to a part in the movie, which will star Bollywood's Celina Jaitley as an Iranian princess.

She told The London Paper: "Sean Connery is there in the film and recently Orlando Bloom was also signed." Filming is expected to begin early in 2009.

Earlier this year, Sir Sean said he would return to the 007 series as a Bond villain, adding that he would need a bumper pay check to tempt him out of retirement.
