Laugier to direct 'Hellraiser' revamp

The French filmmaker described the opportunity as a "dream project", saying: "I know Clive Barker's work very well, and I would never betray what he has done. Fans are expecting a definitive Hellraiser and I don't want to take that away from them."
The news comes two years after Dimension announced its intention to relaunch the franchise.
Originally released in 1987, Hellraiser gained cult status after introducing a race of demons known as the Cenobites.
