Popstar Justin Timberlake has landed his first big screen movie role, BBC News reports today.
The 22-year-old will play a young journalist who uncovers a group of corrupt policemen in the upcoming crime drama Edison.
Kevin Spacey and Morgan Freeman are also on the cast for the movie, which begins shooting in Canada towards the end of the month ahead of its release in 2005.
"After years of looking at scripts, he's decided on what we think is a terrific project," said his publicist Ken Sunshine. "You can judge by the quality of the people associated with the film the direction he's headed as he begins his film career."
Timberlake previously acted in the 2000 Disney teen movie Model Behaviour.
