The as-yet-untitled project will see the duo playing a New York couple who are forced to adapt to small-town life after being placed in a witness protection programme.
Lawrence is penning the script and helming the movie, which is scheduled to begin shooting in March 2009, according to Variety.
He previously worked with Grant on Two Weeks Notice and Music & Lyrics.
