Universal nabs 'Inferno' video game rights

Universal has picked up the to the movie rights to the unreleased Electronic Arts video game Dante's Inferno, reports Variety.
The game, which is based around a journey into the the depths of hell, sparked a bidding war between studios Paramount, New Regency and MGM. EA had not even announced the existence of the game when they put the movie rights on the market last week.
Creator Jonathan Knight will be closely involved with the movie adaptation of Dante's Inferno, which Universal is hoping to put in cinemas close to the release of the game.
EA and Universal recently finalised a deal to turn Army Of Two into a feature film with Bourne Ultimatum writer Scott Z Burns on scripting duties.
