The sixth instalment in the wizard franchise emerged in first place after 4,000 film fans were questioned on the what they were most looking forward to seeing next year.
Franchise films X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen landed in second and third place respectively, while Michael Mann's crime drama Public Enemies and Tom Hanks's Angels & Demons finished at four and five.
Night At The Museum 2: Battle Of The Smithsonian, The Informant, Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs, The Day The Earth Stood Still and The Taking Of Pelham 123 completed the top ten.
Notable omissions from the list included JJ Abrams's Star Trek reinvention and Warner Bros's adaptation of popular graphic novel Watchmen.
One unnamed producer bemoaned the fact that the list is mainly comprised of remakes, sequels or adaptations of non-fiction books.
"Studios aren't in the business of being studios anymore," he told Wired. "They don't develop and produce original ideas into movies.
"With the financial crisis and everyone afraid for their jobs, they only want to deal with pre-developed, pre-packaged material. No-one wants to stick their neck out."
